The Fruits of Much Labour
This past year has been a true test for everyone. A time to reflect but also a time to forge ahead, to learn to make do with what we have, and to figure out what’s really important to us and we really want to do with our time.
My time has been spent putting together the final pieces of this thing I have been steadily building - my own photography business. After eight years of working full time as in-house photographer at a major textiles and home décor distributor, working freelance gigs here and there and spending the last two and half years taking a night course full time at Dawson in Commercial Photography, I am finally starting to taste the fruits of all this intensive labour.
I’m excited to announce my shift to a full time Freelance Photographer - owning and operating my own photography business from my home studio!
While it is a bit daunting to take a leap into the unknown, I’m already enjoying the newfound independence and variety of exciting new challenges.
It will be a lot more work to run things and manage all the details that business ownership entails, but it will also offer me more freedom to explore new clients and projects, and my own personal photography and video ventures as well.
I have no idea what the future holds but as I break with this chapter from my past, I take a deep breath and step onto a new road ahead - an artist born anew, ready for adventure!
